Schedule

The DTS consists of two phases: a lecture phase and an outreach phase.

Lecture phase||Know God: There are 10-11 weeks of lectures at the beginning of DTS, and 2-3 weeks wrapping the whole experience up at the end of outreach phase.

Outreach phase||Make God Known: There is a 2-week outreach in the middle of lecture phase, and then a 10-week outreach at the end of lecture phase.

During the lecture phase, DTS trainees will join in the Seamill base rhythms of weekly worship, intercession and prayer. Trainees will also spend time in the classroom and various ministries. We will pursue the Lord together, encountering Jesus through lectures, worship, prayer, conversations, meals, practical work, evangelism and more.

Typical lecture topics may include: Nature and Character of God, Holy Spirit, Biblical Worldview, Identity, Relationships, Missions, and more!

This is where you will take the things you learned during the lecture phase and look to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who don’t know Him yet. We learn best by putting into practice what we have learned – what you give generously to others, you keep for eternity. Outreach is about going out into the nations, so the location may be anywhere in the world! Outreach locations are prayed about by staff and announced during the lecture phase.

Typical outreach ministries may include: partnering with churches, youth ministry, physical labour, street evangelism, prayer and intercession, mercy ministries (such as food banks, orphanages), and more.

September Dates: 16th of September 2024 — 9th March 2025

Costs: £3200 is due at the beginning of the school. An additional £300-1000 will be due before outreach.
The exact cost will be dependent upon outreach location, and will be communicated during lecture phase.

Seamill is nestled within a small Ayrshire village on the west coast of Scotland. Our base is ideally situated on a hill overlooking the Firth of Clyde and the stunning Isle of Arran. It is the perfect place to get quiet and seek the Lord.

The YWAM Seamill community is focused on the centrality of Jesus’ Presence in everything we do and every part of our lives. The base functions as a place for many to get away to be challenged, refreshed, and equipped, then sent out to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Come seek His presence with us in a beautiful part of the world He created!

We are blessed with a beautiful building and grounds to use as a place to live, work, and gear up to build His Kingdom.

Built between 1893 and 1902, the Seamill Centre was originally a convalescent home, and it was first opened for the reception of convalescents in 1896. A stained glass window above the west stair case reminds us of this history as it depicts six of the men on the original building committee. They wanted a bright and spacious building in a congenial setting, and they were not disappointed. The Seamill Centre is within easy walking distance of the Seamill beach, the glen, and West Kilbride’s shops, churches, and public transportation.

In 1973, it was purchased by Strathclyde Regional Council and was run as a Teachers’ Training Centre until 1993.

Then, in February of 1994, YWAM Scotland became the owners. Now the Seamill Centre is being used to honor both legacies: as a place of restoration and training, to holistically prepare Christians to go to every nation as Christ’s representatives.

Testimonials

“A big highlight [from outreach so far] has been seeing God perform a bunch of little miracles to lead us to people. A few of us had the amazing opportunity to have a  meal with a man, answer some of his questions about Jesus and the Bible, and just share truth with him. It was so much fun letting God lead us and relying on His faithfulness.”

“During DTS, God brought my relationship with Him to a far deeper level, especially growing me in my trust in Him. I learned what it means to be joyful in Him and to excitedly praise God for who He is. I got to experience God working in and with me to build His Kingdom. Through this, I received a greater freedom, knowing that it is God’s work that I get to be a part of and not the other way around.”

“During DTS I essentially began my relationship with God. It really was the push I needed to actually seek a meaningful connection with Him and to grow in my understanding of the purpose I serve in His kingdom, and what His place is in my life.”
