What is the Internship? We want to see young people released into creative and effective ministry. More so, we want to produce confident and whole leaders equipped to create new structures and avenues within YWAM and the different spheres of society.
Interns are invited to become part of the community for 2 years where they will have the opportunity to SERVE and GROW alongside other leaders and peers, discovering with them the next step in their following after God while realising growth in the key areas of character, integrity, ministry and anointing.
The Internship is like a launching pad, you
come in, you get ministered to, you get healed and then you're
spring boarded, prepared and equipped into your ministry.
Jo P Youth & Evangelism Intern
I was a completely different person at the end of my internship
compared to how I began. I grew in confidence in all the areas
you are taught on, on the DTS track you get a chance to apply
it. I grew in understanding of my calling and destiny.
It did what it said it would do, train and equip you to have
a better understanding og your future and give you the ability
to walk into it
Deborah DTS Intern
You can do your internship in the following ministry areas:
Ministry Development Base Operations DTS Frontier Missions

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Three principles provide a measure by which the content and practice of the internship can be evaluated.
- Being
- Doing - Give it a Go
- Pass it On - Multiply
Doing: Action borne out of knowing the Lord/His Word, hearing His voice by the Holy Spirit. Emphasis is on obedience, sacrificial living, making a real heart-level response to God.
Give it a Go: Interns themselves benefit from a supported learning environment in diverse areas while simultaneously contributing to and enhancing the ministry of YWAM. There is a balance of personal benefit, outward focus and development of team work skills and ethos.
Pass it on - multiply: The intent is to 'multiply' and influence others in a way that is of primary benefit to the recipients. This is completely outward-focused and is probably the most demanding.
CORE VALUES FOR THE CURRICULUM
- Foundations in knowing God—loving God
- Community - loving each other
- Outreach - loving the lost
- Personal Development - loving yourself
