| Aberdeen - Is God on the move? |

So tonight was an event called "Souled out". It runs every three months and gathers Christians from Aberdeen city and shire from all denominations and age ranges. Their vision is to see the Church come together and worship Jesus and be fed with some sound biblical teaching.
Tonight it was Pete Greig from 24/7 giving the message. He seems to be quite a firey guy, all said and done! Lots of passion, coupled with a reality that shakes you to think outside of the normal "Christian walk". He challenged us today with the thought that nothing is impossible with God. Important to that statement is the with God part! He also spoke sincerely about his belief that God was doing great things in Scotland, and that there is more to come!
So this leads me to think, is God on the move? I see the same people on the streets with cups every day, begging for any loose change they might get from passers by. I see the same people losing their minds on drugs and alcohol. I see the same people walking in and out of shops, spending what they don't have. Every day the same stuff on and on, and I wonder, where is God on the move? Jesus break out among the shoppers! Bring more souls into your Kingdom on Union Street!!(the main street in Aberdeen) Jesus break people free from the addictions of drugs, alcohol, shopping, work, money...
Then of course Jesus responds, and to my surprise He says "YES! I agree!", and looks at me with those eyes that burst your soul. I understand, and go. There is plenty of work to be done here. As Pete Greig says in his vision, praying as if it all depends on Jesus, living as if it all depends on me.
God is definitely on the move. He moves through YWAM, Aberdeen City Mission and other compassion ministries, the various and varied churches, people. Me. You. Quite a privilege and a task. Who knows what is next? Part of me is excited, another part daunted, my flesh is exhausted, but my spirit cries YES! Bring it on! Living for God is a scary way to live sometimes. Buying a house without steady income, having a child in the midst of so much unknown, working out where we fit in this city. All these things just so that we can say to God, "we are available, where shall we go?"
Thank you God for this honour of serving you on the move!
